White Sand Hourglasses
Do you know what time it is? Time to get an hourglass! These vintage inspired hourglasses are a true treasure. A whisper of a time long ago when hourglasses represented the present as being between the past and the future, and this has made it an enduring symbol of time itself. They also make a great holiday gift.

More Custom Designs
Another beautiful example of our custom work. This ring was made for a client using her own center stone with champagne and cognac diamond accents. The unique setting was made in rose gold, lending it a vintage flair.
We're delighted to be getting more and more inquiries for custom rings. We love working with our clients to design this important piece of jewelry! And we're always adding to our collection of vintage rings, including bands and unusual engagement ring styles, so be sure to stop by and see them!

Custom Engagement Rings
Along with our contemporary handmade jewelry line, we also make custom engagement and wedding rings. This style was a collaboration between Rebekah and the happy pair. It incorporates delicate leaves set with twinkling diamonds, an element inspired by our Victorian Leaf Band. The center stone is a beautiful bezel-set sapphire chosen especially for the couple.
Thanks to our client for this photograph of their ring!

New Silver Locket Ring
Rings like this have been used throughout history to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes, so they have also been known by other names. Artists would paint tiny portraits of loved ones, to be carried in what was called a “locket ring,” which was popular during the Renaissance. This ring is from the art nouveau period and is handmade in sterling silver.

Inspiration
When designing jewelry, there is nothing more inspiring to me than color. Color in flowers, leaves, the sky- almost every part of the natural world. Natural gemstones are the colors found in the most beautiful things we can see around us. When I return from Gem Shows and see the stones I have bought all together, it makes me want to design new jewelry. I always arrange them and rearrange them, creating color and texture combinations. The other day I spread them on a tray in the bright sun.

Summer Flowers
Summer! The sun is shining after an entire month of clouds and rain. I picked these today at our farmshare and felt like I was in heaven with bees buzzing and butterfly's all around. Everything seemed to sing with gratefulness after the long rain. I want to document the flowers from my garden and our farm each week because when I pick them I want them to last forever, along with summer. Here are the most amazing strawberrieswe picked too, tasting almost of liquor after soaking in the sun.

Terrariums
Now that it's springtime, all I can do is think about plants of every kind. I can't walk past my garden without pruning, planting or weeding. I wanted to bring springtime inside our store so I made these terrariums this week out of antique apothecary jars. My daughter Hazy and I gathered different kinds of moss and stones in the woods and made little worlds inside by planting tiny ferns. I have always loved that a terrarium is a self sustaining environment that has a life of it's own. The moisture that forms on the glass adds to the atmosphere and mystery of what is inside.

COOKIE MAGAZINE 'Nesting' Blog
Our very good friend Brooke Williams is an artist, writer, dj & mom - to name just a few of things she excels at. In one of her many guises she contributes to Cookie Magazine's Nesting Blog. This month she interviewed Rebekah & exposed our home!
From Brooke: 'Just writing to let you all know (in case those modest Holyoke dwellers don't get around to it) that the converted church is having a moment in the sun on the Cookie website. I am so lucky to be the cool person who got to 'discover' them (at least as far as the world of fancy kids magazines goes).'
Thank You Brooke - Read about it HERE

Gardiner Museum Shop in Toronto
The Gardiner Museum in Toronto offers an intimate look at one of the world’s oldest and most universal forms of art and material culture—ceramics. The museum has undergone a major expansion of its gallery and studio spaces - it remains one of the city’s finest examples of modernist architecture. Their Gift Shop is also really nice & features a selection of our jewelry. Toronto based DESIGNLINES Magazine features it in their Spring 2009 Design Guide for the City - from them: 'Housed in the Gardiner Museum, this gift shop carries ceramics, glass, wood, and home accessories by both Canadian and international artists, such as New Hampshire native Rebekah Brooks, whose intricate beaded jewelry is sold here. Hand-blown glass objects from artists such as Kitchener's Renato Foti are also featured. Set your dinner table with Asian inspired ceramic tableware, and decorate it with colourful glass conversation pieces.'

Love is in the Air...
Ok maybe its just spring (and thank goodness for that). But there is something about the sunshine, the new plant life, even the afternoon thunderstorms that has me feeling a little romantic. Our kissing bird necklace captures just about everything I love about spring and summer. It looks perfect with jeans and a t-shirt, and adds a bohemian element to my sundresses. Plus I like the thought of wearing a little dose of summer lovin' around my neck. - Laura

Ceiling Motif by Dresser
Rebekah & I saw this amazing retrospective of Christopher Dresser at the Cooper Hewitt in NY a few years ago. He was a designer and writer on design, now widely known as Britain’s first independent industrial designer and as a contributor to the Anglo-Japanese and Arts and Crafts movements. If we could this is what we'd have on the ceiling of our church. - Christian
