Gifts, Day 4

Let us not forget the men in our lives! While the majority of what we make & sell is oriented towards women, we have some great finds for men. Below is an incredible set of cuff links in their original box from the 20's - these are mother of pearl with rose gold & a brass backing in beautiful shape. More cuff links below that & a pocket knife from the 40's that's both functional & fashionable. New items are always coming in so the next birthday or anniversary stop in for a gift he won't soon forget.

Gifts, Day 3

When we expanded our Northampton store we did so to include more space for our jewelry display but also to accommodate an expanding selection of objects, new & old. If you come in looking for earrings you might just leave with a set of vintage glasses, a sequined clutch, candelabra or vintage bangles!

Gifts, Day 2

Day 2 of our gift feature brings us to a personal favorite, handmade oils from Amherst, Mass. These transcendant tinctures are made in very small batches by our dear friend Luisa, a registered nurse, herbalist & shiatsu practitioner. They are 100% natural & can be used anywhere on the body or even the hair. Blended with a base of Apricot Oil (high in Vitamins A & E to nourish the skin) the three varieties (Magic / Sleep / Flower) feature Vetiver, Bergamont, Lavender, Geranium & Rosewood oils, among others. At home we use these year round to keep our skin feeling healthy or dab some on the neck as a subtle perfume - they all smell so good. Packaged in lovely glass bottles with 22 carat hand painted scroll, they're made exclusively for our stores - you won't find them anywhere else!

Gifts, Day 1

Despite (or in spite of) yesterdays snowfall here in the Northeast, happy first day of Spring everyone! To kick off this new season & all that comes with it (holidays, graduations, weddings) we thought we would illuminate some of the gift items we offer in our stores. While it's true that we sell Diamond rings, we also curate a plethora of beautiful items that sell for well under $100. We start Day 1 with some of our own creations..

Register Earrings: When we opened the Northampton store Rebekah designed an entire line of earrings & necklaces that we placed next to the register at prices ideal for an impulse buy. The earrings have gone on to be best sellers & something we haven't yet offered on the website. These feature the same semi-precious gemstones of our regular line. The difference with these being that we don't make the findings ourselves so we can sell them for less. These start at $25 and go up to around $75, essentially wholesale prices! A steal for something that is handmade & of this quality.

Personalized Pendants: Another great gift item are these Pendant Necklaces we've started offering. There are a variety of simple discs to choose from that can be engraved with the intial(s) of your choice and, if you like, even accompanied by a small birth stone - ideal for a birthday or expectant mom. These have proven quite popular with partners for their wives as it's both thoughtful and personal, but yet so simple to conceive of! These start below $100 as well & are always a hit.

Antique Sale in Northampton Store!

Come to our Northampton Location this weekend and get 15% off our Antique Jewelry! We will also be having a drawing for a chance to win a free pair of earrings, so be sure to stop by.

Emerald Earrings

One of the advantages of precious stones (Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphires) is the undeniable saturation of the color. These earrings frame the face beautifully & have the unique ability to illuminate themselves no matter if your hair is down or up, or your coloring is light or dark. Gold & green is a classically stunning combination as illustrated here: At top we have our Medium Vine Earrings with Emerald rondelles & heart shaped briolettes. These earrings tend to elevate anything they're worn with! At the bottom we have our Emerald Drop earrings which feature larger pear shaped briolettes, a cut that's not easy to find with precious stones. These have a very elegant simplicity, great for dressing up or down.

Emeralds & Flowers

We love Emeralds! Always have, even before they were named color of the year for 2013. This week we're going to be featuring pieces that showcase this lovely stone. First up is the elegant Emerald Strand, it's 18" featuring beautiful Antique Indian beads - a ribbon of Spring around your neck! The color is fantastic though hard to photograph as the stones appear darker than they are in person. Currently we don't offer this to buy on the website as we can't keep these in stock at the stores. If you're interested in one please drop an email as we're happy to take orders on them. *We also make a Ruby strand just like this. I'm including some pics from the Smith College Spring Bulb show from this past weekend. These colors are such an inspiration & remind us the natural world is just about to open back up, thankfully!

Rebekah Brooks in the Peterborough Transcript

The blog has gone quiet lately due to our annual wrath of flu that's had us down for the count. We'll resume regular posts next week with a tribute to Pantone's 'color of the year' & one of our favorite stones - Emeralds! For today here's a link to an article from Rebekah's hometown paper in New Hampshire, The Peterborough Transcript, it's a nice little piece about her & the history of our business. Peterborough is a small town in Southern New Hampshire where Rebekah's artist-mother, Mona Adisa Brooks, still lives & runs a lovely gallery of her own called Trumpet. Alongside her own work she showcases other local painters & sculptors and provides classes and workshops in everything from drawing to language. Peterborough is a great place to visit - if you happen to find yourself there stop by her gallery & check it out!
