A shoot from our friend Sandra Costello. Hopefully this will counteract the endless cold snap here in the Northeast with warm feelings of Summer in Vermont! The bride is wearing our jewelry, thanks to Vermont Vows for the tip off - check it on their blog here.

July Wedding
This beautiful & stylish couple are great customers (& people) who were nice enough to share some shots from their picturesque July wedding. It was an intimate family affair, the bride wore a gorgeous dress that she made by hand (!) & the groom - upping the ante for grooms everywhere - wore a vintage snake pin on his lapel that he purchased from our Cambridge shop. They have 3 rings from us (see pics below) and she wore our pearl & gold vine earrings. We feel honored!

June Wedding
There's nothing like a Summer wedding. The world is lush, the air scented with flowers in bloom & (hopefully) the sun is shining. This beautiful bride, a wonderful client of ours, generously sent these pictures of her special day. In addition to making her ring we also made the lovely Silver & Pearl necklace that compliments her dress so nicely. Wishing them a lifetime of health & happiness!

'With Engagement Rings..'
Friday's NY Times featured an interesting article titled 'With Engagement Rings, Love Meets Budget'. For a purchase heavily driven by the heart and expectations - this article nicely illuminates some of the complexities that often accompany such a purchase. Worth a read - here is the link.

A Carat & A Half
Back to our engagement rings today with a big beauty. This early Art Deco (1920's) ring holds an incredible 1.35 carat center diamond - along with some beautiful side diamonds bringing the total carat weight to 1.5 - alot of bling! The diamond is accompanied by GIA certification & papers. The setting matches the brilliance of the stone perfectly with delicate wheat engraving & millgrain work. Antique rings of this calibur don't come around all that often, and usually don't stay around long. Come into our Cambridge shop & see how it looks on you finger..

January : Engagement Rings
In the depths of winter one of the highlights for us is the beginning of wedding season. This starts with a proposal of course, and if you're going to do that you need a ring..but not just any ring. We've got some truly gorgeous new (to us) engagement rings at both shops & are going to be sharing some of them here on the blog. Today's beauty dates to the 1930's and features an incredible sparkling 1 carat diamond in a transitional cut. There are some beautiful side diamonds as well for additional luminescence set perfectly into the white gold of the band. The big diamond sits nice & low on the finger so it's in no way garish, perfectly balancing it's antiquity with a modern feel - don't expect this one to stick around long.

New Wedding Band
While going thru the images we'd set aside for our Engagement Ring posts (closing with Day 7 tomorrow) we couldn't help but be wowed by these pics of a recent addition to our wedding band offerings. These are so lovingly paired together! The thinner women's 'wheat band' has become a staple of our line but the wider ring (more masculine though looks great on a woman's finger as well) is a newer design that dovetails beautifully with the original. Shown here in 14k Yellow Gold.

Engagement Rings, Day 1
With flowers abloom and Spring in full swing - wedding season is officially upon us! To celebrate this season of commitments we are showcasing 7 days of some of our favorite engagement rings (and maybe a few wedding bands thrown in for good measure). For Day 1 we've got one of the largest diamonds we've ever had in the shop! A truly incredible 1 carat trans-euro cut diamond in a gorgeous Art Deco platinum ring. This stunning ring has it all - brilliance and bling in a delicate, streamlined setting that looks incredible on any finger.

Engagement Rings, Day 5
We bring our engagement rings posts to a close this week with one of our own designs. Probably our best selling ring - the dearly adored Hollin Wheat Band featuring an antique mine cut diamond with gorgeous clarity & color. This ring is an instant classic in that it updates it's vintage inspiration ever so slightly with it's streamlined appeal and offers something that's hard to find - a beauty that's both timeless and utterly wearable.

Engagement Rings, Day 4
A nice alternative to more traditional engagement rings, cluster rings have proven very popular in our stores and for good reason. This 14k White Gold Daisy Cluster Ring has 11 antique rose cut diamonds wrapped around a bright center that just shines. As with all of the rings we prize this has a nice modern, low profile. These also just seem to universally look good on all fingers! Beautiful.

Engagement Rings, Day 3
Today we have a beautiful 18k White Gold early Deco Ring showcasing some incredible filigree work & a stunning 3/4 carat center diamond. The great thing about this is that it's quite substantial yet retains a delicacy & lightness due to the filigree blossom and thinness of the band towards the bottom. It is also notched as they used to do on some rings of this period so that when you wear it with a wedding band it will fit together perfectly. Gorgeous, and you won't see one of these on every finger.
